I’m on the road teaching this week, and I’m missing the party back home! Some of you may have seen the big announcements elsewhere (if so, just pretend this is a surprise ;)
I have not one, but four new patterns out this week and a Brand New Ruler!! It’s a mini version of the original 60 degree diamond ruler with added hexagon lines. The ruler cuts everything from 1½” - 4½”... and I mean everything, diamonds, triangles, hexagons, trapezoids, parallelograms. These four new patterns can all be made with the mini ruler (you can make them with the original size as well, it just might be a little more cumbersome to cut smaller shapes with the bigger ruler).
The first new pattern is Bumblebee Blossoms! Isn’t this the cutest thing!!? I used the Ombre Bloom collection from V and CO for Moda (it will be in stores in Oct). This pattern has the full step by step instructions for the Flower blocks, including really good pictures on how to cut ombre fabric to get that shading effect. The bee blocks are so fun to make I kinda couldn’t stop and ended up making enough for two more quilts! Hahaha!
This next new pattern is called Rock n Roller Coaster! I am going to start making a few patterns that I’ll add to a “Simple Angles Series” This is the first in that series. If you are just getting into piecing angles and you want to start small and simple, this is a great way to go! It’s basically two shapes (diamonds and triangles) cut from the same strip set and then arranged to get this zig-zag look. You will be amazed at how fun it is to put together.
Now we have, Pool Party! This is a Cut Loose Press pattern (I would also consider this a Simple Angle Series pattern). It is cut from strip sets and then the “beach balls” are arranged in half rows so there are no Y seams or anything complicated. It uses (20) 2½” strips and a background color, so this is a great stash buster or use one of those Jr Jelly rolls.
Finally, I get to show you Buffalo Lodge! This pattern will be out at the end of the week, so we can take preorders now for the printed pattern. They will ship as soon as we get them from the printer (ETA 9/24). PDF downloads are available NOW! You guys are seeing it first! The pattern includes directions for all three: the table runner, placemats, and the tree skirt. These little tree blocks are kind of addicting too :) And the simple color scheme of the plaid piecing makes it a great home decor set. This would be another good little project to do if you don’t want to commit to a big quilt.
Below is a demo video on how the new ruler works, we’ve just posted it on the Krista Moser YouTube channel! I’ll be doing more demo videos in the future with different quilt’s, so if you are a highly visual learner, check back often :)
Okay, and last but not least… since it’s a week to party and parties have favors, I thought we would put the whole shop on sale, new patterns and all, 20% off!
Happy Sunday everyone,
Krista
