Fresh Fruit

I’ve been working on this pattern for almost a year, and I finally get to share it with you! I had this idea for a sampler style quilt where all the blocks would be different fruits… it was kinda fun to think up just how I would get lemons, limes, oranges, watermelons, strawberries and grapes from the 60 degree diamond ruler. Each block teaches a new technique or shape you can cut with the ruler.

Once I had all my blocks designed, I worked with the Kona solids color palette to make a custom jelly roll built from the colors I wanted to use. I’ve never done this before, and it was the coolest process. The Fresh Fruit jelly roll will get you all the fruit blocks plus the striped filler blocks, and the colors are YUMMY!

I made a new YouTube video showing some of the process and talked about the different blocks.

I also plan to do this as a quilt along, sometime after the first of the year. I think this would be a super great way to work through each block and assembly with little tutorial videos each week. If you haven’t done a quilt along with me yet, I think you’d like it, we have a lot of fun :)

If you’d like to get your hands on this new pattern, you can find it in the shop. The custom Fresh Fruit jelly roll is available here, and if you want to add the white background with a gingham plaid binding finishing kit, you can find that here.

Happy Thanksgiving!
