I am so excited to finally share my latest pattern! This is Crimson Christmas—isn’t it so pretty?! This design has been in the back of my mind for a couple of years… I knew I wanted to do something asymmetrical again, and I couldn’t be happier with how it came out!!
I designed these poinsettias with smaller pieces in the middle that gradually get bigger as the petals “bloom” out. It was fun to work in some new piecing techniques to get all the shades to blend together giving each flower depth and that va va voom factor! Haha!
This week, we filmed a new YouTube video to walk through the fabric choices I used in each area and the simple cuts involved in making this quilt. And…. this is going to be this year's Quilt Along!! Starting on Tuesday, Nov 5th, I will do a new video lesson each week for five weeks. These videos will be available in a private Facebook group, not on YouTube. We will be working through the entire project like a virtual class. The videos will be recorded and can be viewed at any time, so you don’t have to worry about missing out if you are not sitting right at your computer. There is no cost for the quilt along, only the purchase of the Crimson Christmas pattern is required.
I know many of you love it when we do kits, so here is the link to the kit with all the fabrics I used to make this quilt. I chose six shades in each of the poinsettia colors and four shades for the leaves. The kit also includes the background and binding.
Are you ready to get your Christmas quilting mojo going?! We're going to have a great time!
Happy Sunday everyone,
Krista
