Where in the world have you been?

I’ve got stories to tell and pictures to show! I spent the last couple weeks in and out, on the road teaching quite a bit. I was doing yo-yo trips over the mountains on just about every road that would get me there :)

I also did a presentation for the North Central Washington Quilt guild this week. I was able to reveal several new quilts that are in the pattern production stage right now and will be ready for order in a couple weeks!

Here, I showed the guild meeting a demo for my No Math Scallop Border. If you haven’t seen this before, take a look at this tutorial from awhile back. There are step-by-step pictures and a free printable template!

I showed them Double Struck Star, which I made last fall, but I am just now able to release the pattern!

Here is another newbie, Ombre Blossom :) This is brand spanking new, and I’m a little over the moon about it! I used the new Ombre Confetti line of fabric that fades from light to dark, so you get added effect.

I have two new patterns coming out with Cut Loose Press. The first one is Woven Jewel Box made with a lot of background neutrals and an offset row of diamonds.

Then this little cutie is Hexie Hot Air Balloons, meant to be a baby quilt, but you could make it bigger!

The next day, I taught the funnest group of gals my Hollow Star pattern at the Leavenworth Quilt Company. If you are anywhere near Leavenworth, WA, you need to visit this shop! Lynn has a great eye for color and style, and her shop is the cutest thing. You can just tell it is an extension of her!

She fed everyone lunch including a selection of local wines!

Dessert was made by a local bakery. Look close, they are “Hollow Star” cookies! She thought of everything :-)

Who wouldn’t want a candy selection on the lazy susan with the rotary cutters?! You know, just in case your cutting energy wanes.

The class was full of busy gals working away on their blocks.

We laid all the blocks out on the floor, at the end of class, to see them together as one crazy quilt.

What a great time! I’ve said it before, I think the kindest most generous people in the world are quilters :)

Thank you, Tracy Overturf and Brooke Thomsen, for the photos!

Don’t forget to tune in to the American Patchwork and Quilting podcast/radio show tomorrow, April 2nd. I will be on with Pat Sloan as her first guest of the day, at 1:00 PM PT. It could be a total disaster! Hahaha! So go easy on me :)
