The Coupeville Cottage

Cottage.jpg

Welcome to the Coupeville Cottage!

This is a five-bedroom retreat house and creation space designed by me, a serious quilter, with other serious creators and quilters in mind. Every part of this space took a great deal of care and thoughtfulness as I imagined a creative studio and retreat space I would want to experience again and again. I hope I thought of everything :) But if you take a look around and still have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! Send an email to:  quilting@thecoupevillecottage.com

Hugs, Krista

Krista’s retreats

I will be hosting several retreats a year at the Coupeville Cottage. These will be four-night, five-day retreats with overnight accommodations and all meals provided. The cost per person is $1,295 plus tax, and space is limited.

At my retreats, you can choose any one of my patterns (or multiple) to make during the retreat and get individual guidance as you work through the process. On occasion, I may do a special retreat dedicated to a new pattern after its release, and that will be listed as such.

Let The Coupeville Cottage host your next retreat.

Do you have a group that loves to retreat together?! The Coupeville Cottage might be your new favorite place. The house will accommodate thirteen overnight guests in five bedrooms with four bathrooms. See the pictures and information below for each bedroom layout. The group rate per night is $895 + tax with a three-night minimum. Additional nights are $500 + tax. Full-week stay is (6 nights, 7 days) are $4000 + tax.

There is a fully stocked kitchen and ample dining space for your whole group. Also, a cozy living room for relaxing, reading, or chatting with friends. Outside, there are front porch rockers and benches. There is also a patio area with a fire pit and twinkle lights.

The Sewing/Creating Space

This space accommodates thirteen people, each one having their own height-adjustable, sturdy table (holds up to 1K pounds, no bouncing sewing machines here!). Each table comes with its own gooseneck task light to move extra light where you might need it. The chairs are the very popular and comfortable rolling bungee chairs from the Container Store.

There is a large height-adjustable cutting and pressing island in the middle of the space, and the walls around the whole room are design walls accessible by every sewing table.

This space has been wired for success with extra lighting bathing every corner and multiple circuits to provide ample power for all those machines, etc. The sewing space has also been outfitted with heat and AC for comfort, no matter the season.

The sewing space is detached from the retreat house, just a few steps away, so the all-night sewers won’t be disturbing the ones who prefer to sleep :)

Floor Plan.jpg

Here you see a layout of both the retreat house and the sewing space. The bed count and layout for each room are illustrated here, as well as the table layout in the sewing space.

The bedrooms are each named after one of my patterns. Each one sleeps two or three guests on very comfortable hybrid memory foam mattresses.

The Flutterby Frolic bedroom has two twin beds and its own bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The Vintage Windmill bedroom has three twin beds and its own bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The Dancing Dahlias bedroom has two twin beds and shared access to the spacious hall bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

The Lollipops and Licorice bedroom has three twin beds and shared access to the spacious hall bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

The Hollow Star bedroom is the only bedroom upstairs, and it has three twin beds and its own bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

How to get here!

The Coupeville Cottage is located in Coupeville, WA, on Whidbey Island. This is an island you can drive onto as it winds through the Puget Sound. At 57 miles long, Whidbey Island is the longest island in the western United States.

You can drive onto the island at the north end over the Deception Pass Bridge. This is quite a spectacular sight and worth the drive just for the wow factor.

From the south end, you can drive onto the Mukilteo ferry for a short 15 min crossing before disembarking onto the island at the Clinton port. Coupeville is at about the midway point on the island.

Coupeville, the town, is about as charming as it gets. This little seaside town is bustling with shops and bakeries. There’s something around every corner: the yarn store, the wine shop, the deli that specializes in cheese pairings, restaurants, waterfront parks, and the iconic pier that stretches out over the water. You name it, this town has it! There’s a lot to see and do.

If you are flying into SeaTac Airport, there is a shuttle that runs daily from the airport to the island. You can find their schedule here.
