I just returned from Quilt Market this week and oh what a time I had! I am still sorting out the visual stimili and all the conversations I had while there. I thought I would share some favorite things and trends I noticed must be coming around the quilting bend.
Just look at this fabric covered wall! Everytime I walked past this endcap display, I was awestruck by how beautiful it was!
Here is another favorite endcap display. All of those balloons are decoupaged with fabric…. Cute!
It looks like one of the trends making a comeback is chenille! I love the dimension chenille adds to these quilts. And, then there is this pretty flower fabric raw edge applique over a modern Double Wedding Ring… What a simple and elegant look!
Look at this wild applique technique: I think it was using gauze and netting and silk ribbon, all stitched down in a flower shape... just beautiful!
I love, love, love stripes! I saw several striped fabrics used for all kinds of things. I think stripes add so much to a quilt or home decor piece… at the very least, just bind it in stripes :)
And of course with Christmas around the corner, there were some cute Christmas displays and fabric lines. Snowmen and sewing machines, what more could a girl ask for? :) and that fun version of the Tuffet.
I found some great little catchall zippered pouches made from wool felt. These would be fun gifts for quilters! It looks like there are a lot of children’s collections that have matching clothes and quilts.
And what about this booth wrapped with its gnome hut and clothes line…. Sooo cute! I would have died for that as a kid! Hahaha!
Last but not least, this “Farm Sweet Farm” applique quilt was absolutely stunning! I am always impressed by hand applique, and this quilt had so much detail, I couldn’t take it all in.
